What happens if I become incapacitated?

Answer

Briefly, when you are incapacitated, you are unable to manage your own affairs because you are not physically able or because you are not aware of the time and place. If you have properly drafted and signed legal documents, someone you know and trust will step in to manage things for you until you are back on your feet.  Otherwise, if you do not have your wishes in writing, a court will appoint someone -- probably a legal relative -- to do so.
